A very fine large early 19th century Darning sampler, signed by the sewer C S, and dated 1812.
8 Cruciform darns form have been worked around central floral darns. The central bouquet of moss roses and shamrocks held with a yellow bow with small pairs of flowers, that seem to have come off a Jane Austin dress.
Some small holes in ground silk and thinning to the cross bottom right.
